Contractor Legitimacy

Choosing a roofing contractor can be a difficult task, particularly in Rochester with 30+ Contractors to choose from.  How do you decide who is going to have the opportunity to replace one of the most important parts of your home? Is the contractor:

  • Licensed, bonded, fully insured, including worker's compensation insurance on employee. ( and willing to provide proof)

  • Capable of handling all aspects of your job in a timely manner. Not leaving your home subject to overnight wind and rain damage.

  • Willing to provide references.

  • Local and in good standing with the Chamber of Commerce and Better Business Bureau.

  • Involved with local professional organizations.

These are important qualifications and should not be overlooked when choosing your roofing contractor.

"Effective January 1, 1992, Minnesota Statutes require that residential building contractors, remodelers, roofers, and manufactured home installers be licensed by the state. Cities and Counties are prohibited by state law from issuing permits to unlicensed contractors who meet the state licensing requirements, and it is a misdemeanor to perform unlicensed contracting work."
